General Rules & Regulations

Event Directors and Departments:

1.    Each event director of any department will have the arrangement and super­vision of all articles and animals in his/her department and is responsible to the Board of Directors.

2.    Each director will afford the Judges every facility for examination, affix the ribbons, and when the Judges are not on duty, take charge of the lists.

3.    Each director is expected to exercise great care of preserving and returning the lists of the awards and upon no other authority can premiums be paid.

Visitors and Patrons

The Association will endeavor to make all visitors and patrons comfortable and pleasant. Each officer desires to render his/her services to any visitor or patron, should occasion require it, and any misconduct on the part of anyone should be reported to the President immediately and appropriate action shall be taken.

 

Exhibitor Rules

1.    Every article and animal on the grounds shall be under the control of the Board of Directors during the Fair, and every possible precaution will be taken for safekeeping of same, but the Association will in no way be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur.

2.    The Director of the Event or Department in which all exhibits are entered will make designation of space for exhibition.

3 All exhibits entered for competition will be under control of the Director of said event. the Association will furnish security and every precaution will be made against loss or damage to any exhibit.

All entries not claimed by 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011 will become the property of the Fair Association of Bedford County, Inc. Exhibitors having objections to any judge or judges shall make their com­plaint to the Secretary of the Association, in writing, stating the grounds of the said objection.

Admission To The Fair Admission: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday will be $5.00 per person with children 6 years and under free. Admission: Thursday night will be $10.00 per person with children 6 years and under free. Senior Citizen's Day Admission will be $2.00 per person on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. ONLY. Family Admission pass price will be $50.00 for a family of 4 with any additional family members $20.00. Gates will open as follows:

Monday, July 18, 2011                       4:00p.m.

Tuesday, July 19, 2011                      4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011               9:00 a.m.

Thursday, July 21, 2011                    4:00 p.m.

Friday, July 22, 2011                          4:00 p.m.

Saturday, July 23, 2011                     9:00 a.m.

Judges

Judges will be particular to observe the following rules: a.) Blue ribbon designated for 1st place; b.) Red ribbon designated for 2nd place; c.) Ribbons shall be affixed by the Director under the direction of all Judges at the tie of the award on all articles exhibited and animals in the ring.

Carnival

Carnival rides run Tuesday through Saturday. Carnival Armbands-Tuesday--$ 10.00

Carnival Armbands-Wed. thru Thurs. --$16.00 Carnival Armbands-Fri. thru Sat.--$ 18.00

$5.00 per Livestock Trailer


Fair Exhibition Entries 2011

Rules and Regulations

• All Bedford County residents, Bedford County FCE members and Bedford County 4-Hers are eligible to enter items in the Fair Exhibition.

• Only one entry per lot per person is allowed.

• Entries must be made or grown by the exhibitor since August 2010.

• Each lot will have a pre-4-H category for children younger than 4-H, a 4-H category for youth

who have completed 4th grade through those completing the 12thgrade, and an adult category.

• All items must be left on display until released by the Fair during official pick-up times as listed

below.

• See also any special regulations under each Department and Class.

• Reasonable precautions will be taken, however, the fair board and/or University of Tennessee Extension will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any article.

• Any article left after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24 will become property of the Fair Board.

• The Fair premiums will be paid at $6.00 for 1St place with a blue ribbon, $4.00 for 2 nd place with a red ribbon, and $2.00 for 3 rd place with a yellow ribbon.

• A Champion rosette will be awarded to one entry in each class.

• All decisions by fair judges are final.

Entry Process

Decide which lots you will be entering. Remember only 1 item can be entered in each lot. You may fill out the tags in the book by listing the lot number and checking pre 4-H, 4-H or Adult. Attach tag to item using pins, tape etc. on the right hand edge of the tag. Bring all items to the Exhibition Room (Main Building) at the Agriculture and Education Center on Midland Road at the entry times listed below. You will be entered into the computer and be given tags and a sheet of sticky labels with your name printed on it to attach to the labels at that time.
